Halogen neodymium ?

Highly energy efficient broad-spectrum daylight bulb
Optimizes heat penetration through increased infrared levels
Enriches colouration through Neodymium
Stimulates breeding behaviour and physiological well-being through UVA rays
Can be combined with Night Heat Lamp or Infrared Basking Spot for a 24-hour cycle

Halogen bulbs are actually an advanced variation of incandescent bulb technology. One of the major factors that shorten an incandescent bulb's lifespan is the evaporation of the tungsten within the bulb. By adding a trace amount of a halogen gas (methyl bromide) inside the bulb, a chemical reaction removes the tungsten from the wall of the glass and deposits it back onto the filament, extending the life of the bulb. The higher temperatures of halogen lighting contribute to a whiter light, a higher light output and a greater efficiency.

this is what says on the exo terra site and on the product
i posted some pics too

I have the exact same one on my 3' x 3' x 5' cage.. My Chams will sleep in the middle of the cage. He will sometimes wake up b4 the lights come on and climb up to his basking spot and wait for the light to come on.

I have it 15-16 inches away from his basking spot. And it's about 92* at that distance. It dosent seem to do much to keep the ambient temps up on this large of a cage tho. (the rest of teh cage just seems to be whatever my homes temps are that day. Usually in the low 70s)

honestly, it really doesn't matter.

any/all incandescent bulbs will suffice, or these halogen bulbs will too.

I believe the difference is the halogen bulbs put out MORE heat (and some of them are actually waterproof/resistant for turtle tanks).

However, ultimately, it does not matter what bulb you use as long as your basking spot and ambient temperatures are in the proper range. Personally, I find it much cheaper to buy basic "clear daylight household incandescent" bulbs (the higher the wattage, the hotter it gets).

The Halogen bulb will work fine, but it costs like $10 whereas a basic incandescent costs like $1. That is the only reason I suggest using the basic household bulbs instead :p

you still need a UVB bulb though, separate from this

agreed!! I got my halogen bulb to make an over $100 purchase to get free shipping. It works great and seems to put out a more intense heat sig. But a reg household bulb will definatly do the job. I have reg incandescent bulbs on 3 cages and a halogen on the large one. You can go either way with this. No real wrong or right.

how long does it last?do you know?

ive used the neodymium bulbs before i dont think they were clear like that. if i recall it had a frosted look to it. i do remember liking the color of the light it put off. more so than your standard soft white household incandescent.

so it will work but you dont need anything expensive like that. if you want a spot of flood lite for more concentrated light/heat downward you can purchase them pretty much anywhere bulbs are sold. walmart home depot and most grocerey stores. but grocery stores are usually pricier for the same thing and you have less selection

for aesthetic purposes i say spend the extra money. the plants may thank you too.

i already ordered it for about 4 euros and i dont find it so expensive, its ok!
well its my 1st cham and i want to use the best
thank you for comments :D
