Hand Feeding Baby Panther

I picked up Riptide about 1 month ago at a reptile show (screameleons table). He no longer runs and hides when I open the cage to feed him. Recently I was trying to place a cricket on one of his leaves and he came over like he was going to eat him out of my hand. So i hesitated and took the cricket back and thought about it.. thne a few seconds later put the cricket in front of him, and he ate the cricket out of my hand. It was awesome!

I was wondering if most panthers do this? and if so.. is it recommended?

Hand feeding is a great way to interact with chams! Amy took food from me after I'd had her for only 3 days! It's the best feeling ever!:D

My guy still runs when I have a cricket in hand...(Hes 3 months and only had him for a little over a week) but he did eat horn worm out of my hand the other day...

hand feeding is the best way to build up trust with your cham, so keep doing it.

this is Laurie 1 day after she saw that big, bad, vet. clearly she still loves me...or that cricket. :p

Some of my chams do this as well. One of my nosy bes used to do it as a little guy, but has since grown out of it. I have an adult sambava that comes right to his door when he sees me w crickets and eats them one by one out of my hand.
