Hand feeding

I really wish to feed my chameleon from my hand, but the problem is he has never eaten any type of worm. I got him from my girlfriend and she fed him only crickets because of the one time she bought worms he didnt touch them. Is it possible he doesnt like worms? He is about a year old is it too late to introduce new food to him? If its not to late i would like to feed him out of my hand, or should I try to put them in a tray first for him? suggestions would be great

I've never heard of it ever being too late to introduce new feeders. It's actually best that they have variety in their diet.

Some chams can be picky though. I've noticed my male veiled has lost interest in his crix for over a month now. He seems to like his worms, but I still put crix in his enclosure anyway. I have two cresties in there that can eat them too.

As far as hand feeding the worms, Maybe cup feeding the worms first to see if he will take to them. If he does take a liking to them, then you'd probably have a better chance hand feeding them to him.

This is just what I would try. Maybe others will have more or other suggestions.

Good luck!

Don't forget, veiled chams need to have veggies in their diet too.
You can get some mustard greens or romain, break it up in small pieces, and
put that in a separate cup from the live feeders.

It may take a while before he discovers the feeder cups though.

I use small, clear plastic deli cups, like 2oz, and stick it to the cage wall, near
a branch, with a magnet and washer on the other side.

what kind of worms have you tried?

Chams really like silkworms, hornworms, mealworms, super worms
