Hand feeding

Anyone have ideas of how to get to start hand feeding a veiled chameleon it's 4 days since its been here I've been holding crickets about 4 inches from it's face it looks at it and walks away anyone have tips or a walk through to help me with handfeeding:) thanks

Get a grasshopper or locust. I've yet to see a chameleon that can resist one of those out of hand.
 
Four days??? Give the animal time to settle, all you'll do is stress it & make it scared of you. Wait until it is comfortable in your presence & will feed in front of you. Then you can try offering food by hand. I have found using tongs first, then your fingers/hand. Also hold the food further away than four inches, let him make the move towards you. Rather than thrusting the insect in his face.
You also need to accept that no matter how hard you try, it may never feed from your hand. I had a male veiled once (from a 12 week old baby) & it took over three months before he would even feed with me watching him. I couldn't ever get him to hand feed.
Good luck, just be patient.

Ha ha! Shame your not near me. I could bet you, you couldn't get my male hoehnelii to take either. :D Lol!! I'd be quids in.

Thanks for the help also she has begun to eat from our hand and also doesnt seem to get stressed out no matter what she is doing good and and once again thank you weve pretty much had her for a week now and is already eating from hand:)
