Hand sprayer issues?

So I am having issues with a new hand sprayer I got and I don't want to have to take it back if I don't have to. Anyway, I ended up getting rid of my cruddy reptile one because it was causing issues far too often. I bought a HDX 1 gallon hand sprayer from homedepot today.

I don't know what happened, after using it for my usual extra mist I throw in, (and having it work great) it all of sudden isn't working. The lever on the flow control part is suddenly not allowing me to depress it, instead it is staying depressed all the time. So the mister is constantly misting if I pump it. I want to use this for my outside mister when I have my chams outside. But at the moment I don't feel safe putting them out at the moment because of this issue.

Is there a lock on it or a lever that slides in that keeps it depressed? Mine has a lever that I push forward after pressing it down that keeps it spraying.

Sadly I think I figured out was wrong. Matt and I talked about it. While I was checking for the lock and moving the lever like he told me to. It seemed like the white plunger piece inside that helps keep... would it be undepressed XD idk what the opposite for that word is, it had been attached by glue but very poorly. It would not reattach in anyway. So I have tried putting some marine epoxy in there. It's either that fixes it or it's officially broken and I have to take it back. *shrugs* either way I get one that works XD
