Hey all! my uncle was looking to get a new pet and he really likes my chameleons ! He said that he wanted to get one for himself and i would help him with all his husbandry needs and what not but he said he didnt want to use a cage , he said he wanted something that would hang from the roof like the chameleon cantina or something like that , he said he would be up for freeranging but theres a small dog in the house and we dont know how to setup a free range. So what im asking is that i know hanging enclosures that you can buy arent good enough for a indefinent home , can i make a custom one that would suit a chameleon ? or is there one for sale that already does? he wont go with a cage just one of the hanging ones , here is a picture of what i mean . Thanks !

p.s he wants a male panther !

None of the hanging ones have a solid enough bottom that I know of. You could make your own hanging free range like thing, like @jannb makes... Hopefully this will summon her XD

Either build your own or buy a hanging Aviary.

I use Reptariums. I just hook wire around the pvc frame and bring it up to a point where I can bind each wire. Then I just hang them from hooks.

Here are a few of mine I hang outside one of my greenhouses. I also run misting line over the top of them.

do you leave them in that year round?

No, it gets into the 30's high 20's in the winter here. So, I can't leave them out all year.

I have about 12 reptariums that I have like this. I use it as a way to get them natural UVB. I have been doing this for years instead of buying UVB bulbs. I just move a chameleon into their reptarium and hang them outside.

The larger one stays out all year round. It is used primarily for my melleri. In the colder months I will let some of my montanes out in it. My multis love it out there when it is in the 40's-50's with some sunshine. I think I will also use it this upcoming winter for my hoehnelii.

As far as hanging cages go, odds are there's none on the market that will suit the needs of a panther. What has been mentioned above with the reptariums is a clever idea that'll work, but the creative part of me says to give building your own a go. This way, it can be better suited to the specific needs of the new panther chameleon, and might look pretty fashionable.
You can go simple, or you could go crazy complex. Like, nifty shapes like curves and stuff might look pretty cool/nicer.
