Hanging Potted plants question(s)

I have a few qquestions for those of you who have potted plants hanging in your enclosures. Are you re-potting them into better pots? or keeeping the store plastic pot? What is the soil mix? How are you handeling drainage?
How many plants are you using in a 4'x2'x2' enclosure?

I think I tried using a hanging plant in 2002, and found that it didn't work well at all.

In all the larger cages like you described, we have found that 10" sitting plants work best. There are some great bushy, tree-like plants you can use for chams.

If you hang too much plant at the top of a cage, it will get burned from the heat and strong lights and it will block out the resources for the cham. Then you have dripping to contend with and you don't want the chameleon drinking the water that has run through the potting soil.

Cover the dirt of the upright plant with either a dixie plate (slice to center to allow for main stem) or some similar material so that the chameleon doesn't ingest the soil from the plant. Sit the plant in a saucer that can be emptied easily or suctioned out. You can even use a liner for the cage base.

i kno you can keep a devils ivy which is a potted and they have a lot of names for it !!! so just asked if you have one in mind your lookone up because they have a lot. And alot of people will help.

Right now I have a Pothos and a Ficus. I also have some jungle vine to add.
I'm still figuring out the enclosure setup but so far "popcorn" is a happy cham.
