Tiff we believe Frankie might be a girl due to the fact that we can't see any large fins coming in.
Lynda when I first got Frankie she was a jumper but she's much better now and will ride around on my head, shoulder or hand. Never tried to bite. She is very nosey and watches everything that's going on but she is very sweet.
The toes are long and thin especially the back ones. In the wild the back feet enable them to run on top of the water. I really don't know allot about them. Some one gave Frankie to my vet and he gave her to me. I have been researching allot and found one member here that use to keep them so I ask him a ton of questions. The member here had a male make it to 16 years old. They seem pretty hardy and like to swim. I keep the temps and the humidity high. Since I think I have a female I am now trying to find information on egg laying and the laying bin and if they lay eggs without a male around. About all I could find on the internet is they dig a shallow hole and can lay up to 20 eggs. Chris Anderson do you have any info on theses guys?
