hatchrite

just wondering....most of what i've read through the forum about the breeding and eggs and such has pretty much a theme regarding types of "substrate" for egg laying and incubation...and maybe i've missed it somewhere with so many threads and posts, so i apologize if so.

any advice on using the hatchrite? i've seen it advertised in several places...in fact as part of a package on an incubator that i've been looking at, they included it in the package.

just wondering if anyone's had any experience with it...if its good for a first timer/first clutch....etc.

any advice or recommendations would be great. thanks! =)

Using it right now with 1/3 of a clutch (other 2/3rds are in perlite)
Seems to be working as expected.
Nothings gone bad with it yet (so that may be a bad sign lol)

Hatchrite is Perlite and polymer water crystals mixed together. But yes hatchrite works great, expensive, but great. It is perfect for the hobby breeder. At about month 3 or 4 you might want to add a coke cap full of water to each end of the container you are incubating in. It will spread throughout with hatchrite.

The best

awesome! thanks for all the replies! i'd really like to make sure if something goes wrong, it wasn't something i did, and i know there's a lot to it....just certainly don't want to start out wrong. lol. :p
