He is dying.

He looks healthy, a little dehydrated. Are his urates orange or white lately? I think just setting up a better watering situation will help massively . He doesn't have MBD from the looks of it. And people do pull off keeping chams without misters. I would mist him by hand 3 and on weekends 4-5 times a day and set a timer to make sure it's 2 minutes each. When he's a bit more used to you set a time to shower him for about 15 minutes once a week. And then set up a dripper system.
His urates have always been orange. But I don't have a proper drainage system in my cage. How can I get that.

I just use a rubber maid container that is larger than the cage, cut a hole in the lid and drill a few holes in the bottom of the cage over the hole. The hole has to be large enough to allow good drainage but small enough that the cage can't fall through so a small but of measuring is needed. But it's super easy to make and costs like 15.00 at most.

Edit: it looks a bit trashy but functions great usually I throw the drainage water out on the plants and lawn when it gets about 1/4- 1/3 of the way filled.

I talked to my dad told me that because Maverick is fine now, I should just get the dripper and not the silk worms and if the dripper doesn't work out for him then I can take it a step further and get the silk worms. I am going to try to make a dripper for now
@veiledmav so you think they would allow you to get him ins ? If the need for a vet arises he can see a vet ?

https://www.petinsurance.com/birds .

No, I asked my mom abt ins this morning and she said no and no to a vet either. If something ever goes wrong again, I will probably have to deal with it myself like today

I’m sorry you are set up this way , such a hard first experience for you . Your doing a great job . Would you still re-home Maverick if someone was close enough to take him ?

Depends on how far gone the animal is, if he's still eating on his own and I would say he's good for doing it this way. But if he has sever MBD I have tried this and animals have been unable to drink correctly until 2-4 months into rehab
there are alot of things that can be making him not drinking, if the water have been given in a invorrect form or stressing it. if forsing to drink, becuase of how their organs are arrange you could get water in their lungs. if it has mbd grabing it could damage their weakened bones. there is better ways to try to hydrate the animal.

Countryside Animal Clinic in Lecanto/Beverly Hills would be my only close by vet, otherwise University of Florida Small Animal Hospital. Unfortunately neither would be cheap.

@veiledmav are you giving him water straight from your tap? Or are you giving him distilled water? Sorry I'm not sure if you already answered this prior.
@Brodybreaux25 @Kristen Wilkins a lot of Florida homes run on well water. If OP is using his tap / well water, could this be causing some of his issues?
Anything is possible but this baby came to op this way . He has only had him for a few weeks . Maverick is around 2 I believe his Husbandry has never been correct .

Could be that the old owner was also using tap / well water too. Just not sure if anyone suggested a him getting some distilled or RO water

Outside lighting will be the best adjustment for linear and compact. In my opinion a good compact can be used he will just need lots of extra foliage on top to protect his eyes as he will stay in the uvb rays a lot. So I say on the best days at least try to get 2-4 rays of natural sun when you can. I mean unless he's unable to get sun for prolonged periods of time a day without uvb isn't bad if he can get 4+ hours a day most of the week of natural sun.

I dont remember it being mentioned. I just know that I wont even brush my teeth with the well water when I visit family in Florida, so I can only imagine how a cham would react to it!
