Seems like he burned himself and the skin on his casque is starting to fall off, you can also see the spikes on his back are burned. He also has problems with shedding and his eyes are a bit sunken...

Looks to me, not 100% sure...
that what happened was he is/was getting burned while basking and the screen (if the bulb is too hot/close enough) can actually get hot enough to cut them like that. i've heard horror stories of it happening to veiled chams quite often. i'd suggest scheduling a vet appointment, just to get it checked out and get some medication to stay clear of infections. I can't see all of him so i don't know if his back is burned or not. but do his hands look okay? if he was climbing upside down is crest across the bottom or his hands may also be a little "fried".
This is easily avoidable if it's the case and treatable but it will scar and as for the loose part of the "skin" don't touch it try to keep him warm and get him to drink for right now (never try to force a cham to drink... but you know what i mean, offer him some water. he does look a little dehydrated.), if an exotic vet is near you i'd take him right away personally. It's getting kinda late where i am, don't know about you.

Reevaluate your bulbs and let us know some information on the enclosure and bulbs and all that, pics are nice for enclosures.

not trying to come off as abroken record... but call a vet.

and i do assume you've had him a while and you know how to take care of him... really not trying to sound rude because i'm a newbie, i just know what i've read on caretakers blogs.

it just looks.... scary as HELL to me and i'd be wetting myself right now trying to get him somewhere that can for sure tell me what happened.

Well I've had him for about 7 months and he's been fine, he eats and drinks fine. I don't have an enclosure... he doesn't like them so he free ranges and all my uv/basking bulbs are a decent distance away so he cant really burn himself? his spikes have always been kinda black since I bought him from a local guy

Was there something he could have scraped it on while climbing when you were sleeping? since he's been shedding he could have tried to get shed off and scraped it across something.
I get sad when i look at the picture... somebody fix it :(

wish i had a closer idea to what happened. my only guesses are hot screen cut him or scraped it on something too rough.

Must of been a branch or something I sprayed him with aloe and vitamin shedding spray and put Neosporin on his casque as the vet is closed til Monday not much I can do right now hopefully he'll start getting a bit better by then

as long as it's not infected i think he'll be okay til then. i just hope it doesn't get worse. sucks that you can't just cuddle him and tell him no rough housing.

only way i can relate to you is when i trained dogs i worked with a chihuahua that went through surgery on his back legs and i had to help him get around with casts on his legs. it was heartbreaking. I really hope you find out what happened exactly so the little cham doesn't get hurt again though.

If/when you find out let us know, okay?
