Help! Black Spot On Male Veiled Chameleon

What is this black mark on the side of my veiled? Normal? or no? Noticed it yesterday and it is still there today. Only on the one side. He is about to shed if that has anything to do with it. Lemme know what you guys think. Thanks

How close can he get to the lights and what kind of lights are you using?

The spot is gone now and i lowered his basking branch lower so he is farther from the top. Using a 75w basking light

If your light was on the side there is a high likelihood that he was burned. I had the same thing happen to my female veiled the first night I had her. Just watch that spot for a while. When he sheds you'll get a good idea of how deep the burn goes.
