Hello, so I was cleaning the inside of my chameleons cage yesterday and Leo (my cham) escaped without me noticing. He had managed to climb to the other side where the light was. I believe he burnt his tail :( Is there anything I can do to help it heal??

How many times will it take before you acknowledge the fact that your chameleon is a female? We have been trying to tell you for weeks, but you always just so happen to drop out of threads after someone tries to tell you. You have more problems to deal with than just a burn. She is going to lay eggs and you need to be ready.

Chameleons can get over burns most of the time, especially with assistanct.. Eggs, however, can pose to be a problem. If you have an eggbound female, then you either have a dead chameleon or expensive veterinary visits and treatments. You have to understand that a female is a major responsibility and if you do not recognize the fact that Leo is in fact Leona, then it presents the chameleon with a whole different ball game of health issues that you may not be noticing because you believe that *he* is male.
Please post some pictures of the burn because we can't tell the severity just by explanation, no matter how detailed. If you are still unsure of the sex, then feel free to post more pictures of the base of the tail and the back legs. I am pretty sure we already covered it, but it's just in case you doubt the fact that she is female.

LEO IS A GIRL and she will lay eggs. Please acknowledge this and make the necessary arrangements to have her healthy and prepared for egg laying. It happens so often that petshops sell females as males. You are not alone. Trust the good people on this forum. Not the pet shop guy.

How do I set up a place for her to lay eggs?

OKay okay I'll listen. How to I set up a proper place for her to lay eggs? and what will I need to do??

They are simple. You can do an easy search on here to find out. My female has a mixture of organic soil and sand. You want to be able to dig a tunnel through it without collapsing, that is very important as you dont want to bury her alive. I have about 9 inches deep substrate for mine. Can probably get away with a little less than though.
