Hi,
I'm new to keeping chameleons. I bought a panther chameleon about 2 months. I assumed that she's a female based on coloration/no clear bulge. I have a little pot with coco-fiber for eggs, however she hasn't laid any eggs.
Recently she has some orange spots that have been more persistently apart of her coloration from when I bought her.
On account of the "color change" and lack of eggs I have started to be suspicious that maybe she's actually a juvenile he. I'm not sure what breed (variety? subspecies?) of panther she might be either (PetCo purchase, not from a breeder).
In any case, I would appreciate some opinions besides my own to confirm my suspicion she is in fact a female or perhaps not. And if she is a female, how often should I expect her to lay eggs?

This is from about a week ago, notice the orange spots behind her leg on the lateral line.
