Hi all, my 5month old panther baby cham Picasso just fell off from high cage top today. Long story short, he just finished shedding yesterday. I normally take him out side for natural basking under the sun from 7-10 am. Today it’s rainy heavily and I decided to let him out in the living room while I work on his new cage. I put a branch on top of the cage and another one on the side for him to slowly climb up and rest on the branch on top. But the branch I put on top didn’t hold his weight when he climb up and it fell down...he fell with the branch and the branch fell onto his tail when they landed on the ground...I saw it happened in slow motion in front of my eyes and now he has tail looks like this ( please see pictures ) he went on to my hand as soon as I pick him up . He didn’t change color much after he fell. I feel really guilty and it’s my fault for being so careless.
Update: we just came back from the vet, luckily he didn’t wait long and it didn’t stress him much until the doctor took him off my head and weight him and check his tail and body. The doctor said there’s no need for x ray as there isn’t much they can do even if the bone was broken...he did suggest me to do the laser for 5 min as it will help him with the circulation and blood flow on the tail. He also gave me some liquid med ( once a day squeezed onto feeder) for a few days.
Question: has anyone has similar experience and have any tips to help healing faster? The doctor only said to keep him under the UVB or natural sun and dust the feeders.
Thanks for the read and I would appreciate any feedback or comments ...
