Help in identification of Madagascar chameleons

I'd love to see the geckos, too! These guys are #1 F. oustaleti, #2 C. crypticum, #3 looks like a juvie C. oshaughnessyi, #4 F. rhinoceratus, and #5 is a juvenile C. parsonii cristifer. Great pics!

Kent and Chris: I really appreciate your help with these chameleons. There is one left - 0573 above. Can you identify it for me? I will post some geckos next week.

Oops, didnt see that one. Looks like another Calumma crypticum. Anyway, no problem for the help. I'm sure I can speak for us both when I say we enjoy these threads. :)

And judging by the page views I'm not the only one who is very much enjoying watching on the sidelines. The pictures are great and you two are awesome. Its great watching people who really know their chameleons!

Thank you!

Here are some geckos and other lizards for your consideration. I have a few more but I seem to have run out of upload space.

Kent and Chris: I have some lizards other than chameleons (such as the five shown above) that I would like to have identified by a reliable source. Can you advise me on what sites I should post them?

Tim,

The first one is Chalarodon madagascariensis. The last one appears to be Uroplatus phantasticus, however there are a couple similar species so you might want to ask a specialist in the leaf-tailed geckos (send a PM to Luis: https://www.chameleonforums.com/members/luevelvet/). The others are day geckos and for exact IDs I'd go here: http://www.geckosunlimited.com/community/

If you have any other non-gecko photos you need IDed, you can post them here and I can give you my thoughts or try to point you in the right direction for them.

Four Madagascar iguanas for identification

My apologies if iguanas are not appropriate for this site. But lacking knowledge about lizards, I would appreciate any help in determining if these four are the same species - Oplurus cuvieri perhaps?

From your post on 6/10/12, the first is a Zonosaurus ornatus. The second is a species of Lygodactylus (you'll need to ask at the gecko forum I liked to above). I believe the third is a subspecies of Phelsuma lineata (again, check with the gecko forum). The fourth one looks like a Blaesodactylus sakalava (check the gecko forum). The fifth looks like an Oplurus quadrimaculatus.

From your post on 6/13/12, the first and fourth are definitely Oplurus cuvieri. The second and third are either also Oplurus cuvieri or Oplurus cyclurus.

Hope that helps,

Chris
