I got my chameleon a month ago and he decided not to eat today and yesterday. Also his urates are yellow/orange

I really wouldn't worry over just one day of not eating or drinking. Some chameleons never drink while their owners are watching. How long do you mist for and how many times? Are you using a dripper, hand mister or automatic misting system?

I use a hand mister 15 second bursts and 3 times a day. I had a dripper but he never drank from it. He seems dehydrated

Your misting durations need to be at least a few minutes long. My MistKing is set to go off 5 times a day (upped it for winter and because of my fireplace) with minimal 5 minutes and max 8 minutes. Most people recommend minimal 3 times a day for several minutes each session. Of course this depends on your house's current humidity and temperature.

Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - male veiled chameleon.ive had him for 1 month
  • Handling - barely ever.
  • Feeding - locusts mainly but i add variety like waxworms and silkworms.
  • Supplements - calcium every day. D3 and multivits 2 times a month
  • Watering - hand misting. 3 times a day and i dont see him drink.
  • Fecal Description - brown solid. Yellow orange urates.
  • History - got him from a very reputable pet store.

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - all scree
  • Lighting - uvb arcadia 12.0
  • Temperature - basking spot 85f
  • Humidity - fluctuates. 40% 20%.
  • Plants - fake plants and lots of them
  • Placement - high up on a cabinet in the corridor. Moderate foot traffic

Current Problem - he isnt eating or drinking.

Increase misting times to atleast 2-3 minutes each session. 15 seconds is barely enough time to soak the cage, let alone get the chameleon to realize there is water. I suggest saving up to invest in a misting system such as mist king.
