My Chameleon- Veiled, Male. I would have to guess 3-4 months old. Had him for 2-3 weeks I think.
Handling- couple (2) times a week for cleaning and outside cage time
Feeding- medium crickets constantly and offers of various worms, Gut load with clunkers high calcium cricket diet, tried using leafy greens also.
Suppplements-Repto calcium without d3 every feeding, No vitamin supps yet, told to dust crickets with d3 calcium twice a month.
Watering- little dropper into foliage. Mist 3-4 times a day for about 3 minutes
Fecal Discription- Brown sometimes moist solid, white urates
Cage:
Cage Type- Screen cage with plastic covering 3 sides 16x16x30 I think
Lighting-12 hour of light and 12 of dark every day. No windows. Zoo med dual uvb and heat lamp, not sure on exactly what type of uvb it is
Temp- Between 80 and 90 degrees, night around 75 to 80 degrees.
Humidity- I mist until 80% and remits couple hours later once it. Starts to get below 50%. Hae live plants that I mist manually. Petco Humidity guage.
Plants- 1 golden pothos, and a small bamboo plant in the corner that he ignores to keep the humidity up. Upper level is filled with artificial foliage
Placement- in our spare larger bathroom. No windows around so he doesn't get confused about night and dark being different in his cage and can raise and hold humidity better than any other room. And it really helps cleaning his cage to have his own bathroom. He can't see himself in the mirror at all.
Location- northern panhandle of Idaho
Current Problem- turning black in certain parts of his cage. When he goes Lower in the cage and out of the leaves, he hangs out on a large black vine next to the pot of the pathos plant which is also black, I know they don't blend in with their surroundings but it's what he's doing, I know dark usually means stress but I can't find anything stressing him out and when he goes back to his other areas he's green again, but also he slept on the top of that same vine only at the top of the cage this time. This part of the vine also has no foliage and he turned black like the rest of the vine. I'm worried something's stressing him out but he's back in his normal spots green again.
I know in the pictures he kinda looks more green but my camera makes his plants and him look a lot brighter than he really his.
