HELP..Jackson cham just gave birth...

Hello there

My Jackson chameleon has just given birth to about 12 live young! All babies seem fine they are walking around, drinking and eating. Dont know whether to separate from mother or not.
She looks pretty big still, Im just seeking some advice from someone who has successfully breed Jacksons before!!!

Any advice and help wanted thanks!!
James

Separate from mother immediately! Before you know it you'll have less babies! What are you feeding them?

Feed fruitflies at first, they are smaller than pinheads. I have heard better things about them, but this is second hand knowledge. Where do you live? I sure envy you those babies.:D:D

how awesome!!!!! maybe when you get a few you can post a picture!! I love babys! Good luck with them!!

seperate them as fast as you can, the female will only tolerate looking at them for so long ( they look like crickets that walk like chameleons to her) and im sure she will be wanting to eat in a day or two ( she will eat ALOT)...

Congrats how exciting, and what a surprise. They will bring you a lot of peace of mind watching them eat and drink it's almost therapeutic. :D

We are talking newborns here! Give the little guys some time to grow up. Babies should not be offered for sale until 3 months but that is only my opinion.

Totally Agree if need be you could find a jacksons that is ready to go now and it would be better for you and the chameleon.

Congrats on your babies! I'm still waiting for mine to give birth..when you can, could you post some pics? I'm sure everyone would love to see them :D

Congrats with the babies. I hope I will be posting a thread about surprise baby meru's in a couple weeks :)
Will definetely take pics of them, like you should ;)

Are they all still doing good? Keep us updated with their progress, I hope they do well for you.

Well done and congrats......The later the better to sell of course, and you want them to go to good homes, but if half are male and you don't sell until 3 months old then where do you keep them all? 10 separate vivs?

yes you must separete the baby and take they in a box for first 3 month ... i have baby jacksonii willegensis pashe 10 may and i take the baby in a box , so you can see all baby healt

I rescued a pregnant Jackson 2 days ago . Well, they think she is pregnant, but she already had a clutch of 10 and was never removed from her enclosure that included the male. Soooo....different sources say different gestation periods. Her last clutch was in September. She had 10. She isn't that big, but she isn't small either. I only saw her eat one waxworm today. Do they slow down on their eating when pregnant? Other than that, she is friendly, and active.
