hi, i just purchased my first chameleon. I bought a pair or Jacksons and i must say i am nervous. I own a Sulcata tortois, a uromastix mali, and sugar glider and have not had a single problem, but these cute and fragile creatures scare me to death. I don't mean literally but more as in i hope i dont do something to harm them. As of right now i have the male and female together. They are both a few months old and they are in a large screen cage. They both seem to be fine and are eating. He changes colors and gets a nice green but she stays a brown for the most part. I have read online all different theory's from people. But i want to know from someone first hand on what they suggest as far as these guys are concerned. I am open to all opinions and suggestions as far as they are from experiences owners. Thanks

They need to be separated.
Each animal needs it's own enclosure and they should not even be able to see each other.
Your female is probably showing some coloration to indicate that she is stressed.
Even introducing two of this species for breeding can be tricky, they need several days of introductions and exposure to each other before the female will become receptive to the idea.
Once breeding has occurred she will want him the hell out of her territory.
If you want to succeed with these animals and have happy Jackson's they need to be separated as soon as possible.
