help panther health problem sunken eyes and other

and btw I got all the plants from a list of safe ones for chameleons. I'm also gonna get a reg bulb instead of the mvb. I'm also going to get bigger cages. I was planning on getting one at the next reptile show as thru are a lot cheaper. if anyone has a problem with me soaking in Pedialyte please let me know

Soaking him in Pedialyte is not going to hydrate him and may cause him more harm than good by stressing the little guy out. Why are you soaking him in Pedialyte??

Olimpia, Why have a basking bulb at all if he has adequate temps? I heard to use basking bulbs only if temps fall below 55 F and no red basking at night since it disrupts their sleep cycles. My chams have quite enough heat just with the UVB bulbs and a secondary halogen for lumens/plants. I am actually going to swap out the halogen for LED for summer so the don't over heat

I think you have CHE and basking bulbs confused. The basking spot needs to be warm enough so the chameleon can warm up and for food digestion and other bodily functions. 55 is fine for no heat at night, but wouldn't be warm enough during the day.

You should have a basking light during the day to create a warm basking area in the cage, but the hottest temp should be about 85F for little guys like this and then ambient temps closer to the mid 70's. Right now he's cooking them because there isn't anywhere cooler in the cage to thermoregulate.

I use a halogen bulb for my basking temps too. Every home is different and the temperatures you get can vary quite a bit depending on what you use. If you're getting a basking temp of about 85ish F with the halogen and the UVB then great, as long as the rest of the cage is a little cooler. And yes, it's totally ok to let night-time temperatures drop to 55ish or so, as long as the chameleon can warm up in the morning under the lights.

You may have heard about soaking a chameleon in sugar water if they have a prolapse around their vent/rectum. That is not the problem here so it will not help the situation. Sorry.... Try getting a dripper going for him and fill it every morning around the same time so that it drips for the same amount of time everyday. He will learn where the drops are and go there when he is thirsty. As for your mistings. what kind of mister are you using? Is it possible for you to set it to go off for a couple minutes every couple hours?

I will personally vouch for pedialyte bathing / electrolyte absorption.. There hadny been much research into its use or success with chams.. But its turned a couple of mine around when looking very ropey
