I have just bought a panther three days ago from a local petstore that does breeding with panthers, they assured me it was a male as they had one that was a bit larger that was beggining to show color and another beside him that had not changed colors or pattern for a few months and stayed a peach color, my panther is at the moment a dark brown with multiple black circles at night or when hes calm he tends to go tan.

Any help on the sex would be greatly appreciated im hoping for a male!

Looks like a female.

Most likely you were sold a female, usually thats how pet stores get you. Females are a bit "harder" to take care of so i'm assuming pet stores have hard times selling them. Just be sure to read up on female panther chameleon care sheets.

I was told i bought a male, went in the next day to pick him up and they told me it was a female with a no return policy...In the end what i bought was indeed a male. Pet stores are clueless, believe it or not hah.

what do males tend to look like? cause there was one there that was a pinkish color im going to see if they will consider switching them cause i am not prepared for a female.

Idk... I kinda think its male. I think i see the slighest little bump on the tail. And the more pinkish one is probably female.

what do male tend to look like? i heard they had more drab colors cause this ones about 4-5 months and has no color developed. And with people telling me male and female its just making it so much harder.

does anyone also know if he has a growth problem or something? hes not very big it seems compared to the ones ive seen his age.

This is a picture of my chameleon just hanging on the top, he/she went all white which i found cool but it still makes me wonder whether its a male or a female.

Yours looks very young, so at that age you will be looking for more gray/black tones.
for a male? this one does have a lot of gray and black. thats why i assumed it was a male considering there was one that looked identical to this one just bigger and was getting color and another that wa just flat pink

What makes you think this panther is 4-5 months old? Because I have one-month old babies bigger than that. And as others have said, that tail base says female. You need to look at lots of photos, there are tons of sexing threads on here.

Here are some photos of mine at about 9 weeks of age. All are male except for the last photo in the original set on the thread- those are female.https://www.chameleonforums.com/swag-92821/

whhen i had asked the age he said they had been about 2 months when they got them and they have been in the store for 2 months, he couldve been lying to get me to buy it. im unsure but the reason i also assumed it was a male cause one sexting thread talked about the bump at the base of the tail for the hemipenis to grow and i had noticed a small bump
