Help please my chameleon is dying.

When I set him into his leaves or branches he just ends up falling to the ground, yes I still know he is alive. Is it safe for him to just lay there? It is very cold. I have set up the light bulb, but he doesn't want to stay hanging on to anything

Could you expand on this idea please? It follows closely the vibe my chameleon has been giving off lately.

When I put my chameleons outdoors he seem to revert back to what they are a wild animal. My chameleon doesn't even want to see me when he's outside. I get him out from April (this year) until October all depends on the temp and he stays out rain or shine. Even early spring when still indoors he knows it's spring and starts acting funny.

That sounds a bit more serious to me than just scared mine was doing the same thing, found out he had kidney failure and he died a couple weeks ago I hope this isn't the case with yours but want to mention it.

Have you walked away? I know you want to monitor him, but I really think you need to give him an hour. If you're afraid to leave him on a branch, leave him on the bottom of the cage. He can comfortably survive a night of 50 degrees, so the bottom of the cage for an hour should not present too much of a problem for him.

I agree, if leaving him alone doesn't get him to relax and get back to climbing then a vet appointment is probably needed.

im not following the conversation because i only have a minute on here.

if you were dusting daily or frequently with calcium w/ D3. or even just recently this would have caused him to overdose in exposure to the sun.

why do i know this? i did it with my first cham.

did he pretty much go to the bottom turn black and the inside of his mouth green?

mine recuperated but make sure you do everything right. i know what its like to have no decent vets in the area, even ones that call themselves exotic vets.

my vet had no idea what the problem was and ended up making the correlation by myself and affirming the assumption with someone online...but that was forever ago idk who helped or where i found the help

and even so i dont think there is much that a vet could do to treat the problem. dont dust your feeders for at least a week. and keep him very very hydrated to flush his system.

did you catch that? i was just wondering how hes doin. mine seemed on his death bed for at least a week and took probably about 2 months to get back to normal.....after that be became the most aggressive, and long lived chameleon ive ever owned.
