i have a 4 month old veiled chameleon. i noticed she seemed a bit dehydrated and lathargic a couple days ago so i increased her mistings and put a dripper in her enclosure. Anyone know about how long it takes until they rehydrate themselves or when I can expect to see some improvement? Her appetite has drastically decreased over the last few weeks, but she still eats a couple crickets a day and a silkworm here and there. I've taken her to the vet and had her checked for parasites and respitory infection, those have been ruled out.

Kudos for getting her to the vet. Go at her pace, the dripper is a huge must have. She will notice and use it, it just takes a minute lol keep your eye or her urate it should be getting whiter. As long as shes still eating she should come around :)

Thank you. Yeah she noticed it right away, saw her get a few drinks. I just want her to get better now. Should I let it run for like an hour at a time or what? Or slow drip throughout the day?

I typically fill mine 2 times a day. It also depends if you have any drainage set up? If not you will be dealing with water collecting in the bottom.

Please post a pic. Sounds gravid to me

I doubt she is gravid, she is pretty thin. I did get her from petco, she hasn't grown alot

Have you ever gotten a fecal done? if she isnt growing she could have a parasite like coccidia that causes anorexia and stunted growth

I got one last week, they didn't find anything but I honestly think I may get another one because it really seems like it may be a parasite. The vet didn't seem very knowledgeable

She seems a lot better today I think she was just dehydrated. I put 5 free range crickets in and she gobbled em all down
