Night temps of 69F are fine. If this is daytime, yes a bigger watt basking light may be in order (check the basking area temp to know for sure). Also consider heating the ambient room temp such that it doesnt go lower than 70 during the day. And/or covering the top have of two sides and back of the cage screen.

Agree! Listen what sandra says!

69f in the day time or at night?

thats day time room temps in the day..not in the cage its self..but thats the coldest..normally its about 70f.i havent tested the basking area because the temp gage i have hasnt got a string tester thing,i cant balance it on the basking branch...so im going to order one tomorrow.i just got hold of a new temp cage today but by the time i got home lights had gone out in the cage..il test the temp of it tomorrow and get back to you..i didnt want to use a 100watt because im gueesing the basking area on a 100watt with be about 100f?

How would one do that?this is the cage in question,.this is an old pic..sinse then it has lots more stuff in it and the uv is in side..the basking lamp is still on top tho

A sheet of plastic or cotton sheet or towel, draped over the back and side - perhaps held on with tape or zip ties? I use sturdy wood framed cages, so I'm not sure what your type will support. Best for someone else to chime in....

guys i think i know what my probelm is..you know the reflectour that we use for the basking lamp?well mine has about 12 big holes at the base of it to let heat out/im gueesing the heat is getting let out of the gaps?should i buy a new shade?should i get a pic of the shade for you guys so you know what i mean?

69 f is fine night temp just use hundred watt bulb during the day thats a big cage the cham will have plenty of room to thermoregulate

hiya,
i hav a yemans teenager cham and im in the uk too so i know what you mean, i would defo get a higher wattage basking bulb and either move the branches a little further away inside so its not so close to the bulb or add some more in there further down so he can choose where he wants to sit to warm up and bask, i would also sugest that if you dont want to do that ,get a exo terra reflector and suspend it above the viv so its shining down, but you will have to play around to get the correct temps its important to keep him cooler at night so he sleeps properly so dont worry about this as they can tollerate low temps at night providing he can heat up in the day, but during the day an adult wants ambient air temp at around the 80f mark and hotter at the basking area, also a cooler end at the bottom so he can thermo regulate(control his body temps) babys cant tollerate as hot as adults so go for 75 ambient and and again drop the basking area (and put more branches so he can decide where he wants to sit ,as long as there is a temperature gradient he should be fine... its only problematic when your animal cant get awy from the heat that your asking for probs.and if its to cold al the time he will become sluggish and wont digest his food properly,so best go for a higher bulb, i get a selection just incase and keep them in my reptile draw. good luck dude!!.
