Guys,
I am in the processing of preparing for my 24" x 24" x 48" LLLReptile cage to come in the mail.. I also have a MistKing coming to me and a 22" Ficus (and I also already have a 16" dwarf umbrella). What other plants should I have in there?
I was told having the Ficus and dwarf umbrella in there would be fine for humidity (along with the drip system and mistking)... am I correct?

Youu should be just fine with those two in there and the mist system and the dripper. I would just get some sticks or vines for hime to climb on and you will have a great looking cage going

Well from what im reading your using top of the line equipment excellent and when every pieces of the puzzle will be put together you should have a very good setup. But if you want more here is a few tips, now ficus and dwarf umbrella are excellent choices but they demand a lot of lighting, you might want to add to your chameleon lighting systems---GLO(LIFE-GLO)20W T8 24INCHE TUBES---they are used for aquariums, but combined with your chameleon lighting systems they provide a excellent light spectrum for your plants and will not interfere with your chameleon lighting needs, you can plug them on---EXO-TERRA PT-2235 FLUORESCENT LIGHT CONTROLLER.Now plants and misting systems should provide around 55-65% humidity in most cases, 65% is not to bad for a Furcifer Pardalis Ambilobe but you should add a humidifier to your setup,i use ---(HONEYWELL TOWERS)---combined with your plants and misting system it should provide 80-90% humidity in most cases,it is better to create humid and dryer cycles 80% during the day and dont use the humidifier at night, let the cage dry out to prevant molds and fungus.now if you want to provide optimum humidity control for your chameleon plug the humidifier to a---DAYTIME,NIGHTTIME HUMIDITY CLIMATE CONTROLLER---i use---IGS-030---they cost 250$ in Montreal and should cost 150-200$ in the u.s it is a little expensive but it is worth it.

I have a large schefflera my panther loves his. Also I have a jasmine plant. It is safe and it flowers nice yellow blooms. I have only had this a week and I swear its growing. It wil wrap around your cage like a ivy. Since I added my schefflera my hum is avg 80% all day with only a home made dripper and 3-4 misting per day by hand.

This reply is really about the simple fact that humidity requirement can be confusing,Thats why im being careful and say--(IN MOST CASES)--when i talk about humidity related subjects because in most cases it really depends on where you live, you could have an empty cage and still have 80% humidity all day if you live in Texas, now Picasso i see from other threads that you weary about over-humidity by adding more plants, dont weary about it it shoulden be a problem in New-Jersey,this problems are common in Florida,Texas including Houston and other coastal areas of the southest U.S.A that are classified as humid subtropical climate areas same as Africa, where relative humidity average 90% during the day and 60% at night(fungus, moulds and bacterias)from over-humidity in those areas are a common problem,in north america and canada winter time is cold and humidity low,on top of that we use electrical heating that causes humidity to drop drastically thats why you cant just rely on misting systems and plants to provide chameleon humidity requirements on less you are flooding your cage and you should never over water a chameleon cage, you will need to have a humidifier during wintertime and probably most of the year.

ficus benjamina, hibisucs, dwarf (hawian) scheffelera, pothos (careful and dont confuse with philodendron), dracena

are all plants i use and they work well
