It's a burn. That's a very common place for a chameleon to get a burn from his basking lamp. Lower the basking spot or lift the lamp off the top of the cage and check your temperatures.

spines

from the look of the skin around the spines, it may be an infection. The first think i would do would be to go to the vet and get him checked out. If it turns out to be an infection the vet will give you medicines to treat it.

That's definitely a burn. From the photos, I can tell that you have the basking light inside the cage. You need to get that bulb out of the cage ASAP! All lights should be above the cage. I recommend a vet visit.

absolutley, the longer it stays like that in the moisture of the chamz tank it might collect bacteria in the open wound, causing an infection. i recommend going to the vet to get a cream or something to help the burn

Its not a burn i dont think ive hardly had the lamp on the last week because of the heat..only put it on tonight because it was cooling off...any more ideas? Hes got a small swelling on hes nose aswell

He had no signs of burn or truama just a strip of skins hes been struggling to shed to a month or so now along hes spikes.

It might actually be an infection. The yellow orange skin looks like an infected burn or an infection obtained during his shed. I would still go to the vet either way

Im skint untill next friday thats the problem..ive been bathing the area in warm salt water to try and aid healing...i curious will he always be spikless in that area? And can i get antibac spray from say pets at home? Theres not many exotiv specialists in my area.

Put some polysporin on it until you can get him to a vet. No, the spikes will not grow back. Once they are gone, that is it. Do you have any Silver Sulfadiazine by any chance? It is used for burns but can be used for other skin ailments also.

Sorry im from the u.k and we dont get polisporin here..have to get it in prescription for some reason!. Would somethin like savlon or sudacreme work?

I don't know as I am not familiar with those medications! Sorry. I did not realize you were from the UK!
