Hi...got a young male yemen chameleon and noticed these marks on his tail, no idea where they are from and he isnt using/curling it like he normally does and i am a bit worried...can anybody please help...
They look like bruises or small bites that didn't break the skin. They should disappear in a few days. If you see broken skin or the blackened areas expand, take him to a HERP vet.
Thankyou, it looking like his tail has been drawn on with a pen but it doesnt look broken...we are feeding him small (size 2-3) brown crickets but heard they can bite? I cant seem to find small enough locust just yet so have to wait for him to get a little bigger before switching to them. He also seems to be not using his tail as much as he normally does and doesnt seem to be curling it as often. He has no trouble climbing without it and have seen him use it to climb a little but seems to prefer not to...would that just be because it is a bit sore?
Thanks
There maybe is a few overnight they are too small to notice normally...i do have a look every night and never see them but they might be hiding. Ill keep a close eye on them...thankyou
