My veiled chameleon quit eating crickets about 2 weeks ago. So I’ve been giving him super worms for now until I could get Dubia Roaches in. Well apparently Dubia Roaches are illegal to have in the state of Florida. What can I do? I’m starting to get worried

I suggest finding another insect for your chameleon to eat Maybe grasshoppers, mealworms(use sparingly), etc. I’m sending you the best of luck

Thank you! Everything was so much easier when he ate crickets. And it seems everything is illegal in Florida.

Discoid are legal in FL. I wouldn't feed mealworms. Hornworms, silkworms, bsfl, occasional superworms, and bottle flies also make great variety.

I’ve been giving 3 super worms a day. And still trying crickets. But the crickets just crawl all over him. He’s not interested at all. So I found someone in Florida that raises discoids. I ordered some. So fingers cross Hei-Hei will eat them

Hes addicted to the superworms. Don't feed them, let him go hungry until he eats his crickets. A healthy cham won't starve itself(assuming hes not sick)

2 weeks without food is nothing for an healthy chameleon...

I wouldn't compensate in food that should be used as a treat (waxworms, superworms etc), rather try to find an alternate staple feeder so you can switch that off with crickets in the future.
Consider him a child that doesn't need to eat daily, if he's being a d*ck about eating you don't reward him with candy, you tell him 'fine then, go to bed hungry'.
If they are really hungry they will eventually start eating, thing is they can go without for quite a while and have you worried about their health long before they need to feed.

Lol thank you! I order some discoid roaches for him. So I’ll continue with the crickets and try the roaches when they come in. And he doesn’t seem to be sick. He’s active, drinking plenty of water and goes to the bathroom just fine.
