Help!

My 5 1/2 month old veiled female has been at the bottom of her cage for few days now, and usually when it comes down to feeding she usually goes after them real quick but she hasn't I'm sure she eats some but not all of them, if any one has some info please share i feel real bad that i can't help her. One thing is right now i dont have the proper lighting do to my financial status but i'm working on getting them soon.

It is possible that she has eggs and is looking for a place to dig. Not having an appetite is another sign of carrying eggs. She is young but are you sure that is her exact age?. They can lay eggs as early as 6 months or so it could be possible that is what is going on. Do you have a laying bin in the cage for her? Why don't you post a few pics so we can determine if she looks gravid. As far as the lighting, I am assuming you mean UVB lighting as the basking bulbs are cheap and readily available so you should have one of those atleast. Make sure to get her out in the sunlight if you don't have a uvb light. You live in California so you should be able to do so.

I'm sure that is her correct age. And yes for not having any type of lighting i do take her outside to get sun and i also have rept-cal calcium with 3d, i used to have a blue daylight bulb for her but the whole thing broke. I put a plastic bin with dirt but i'm not sure if it has to be a certain size or have certain depth or how i'm suppose to set it up.

the blog dave attached for you is very informative and will tell you exactly what you need. So you do not have a basking light either? I would get her outside for as much as the temps will allow then. you can pick up a metal dome at home depot for like 8 bucks and and ordinary housebulb for her to bask and keep warm should cost you next to nothing.

It's been somewhat hot so she's had some good heat temp. I looked up online for the lighting and i found some good prices so definitely will be getting that soon. thanks to BOTH of you for the info!
