Help!!!!!

my chameleon that i didnt know was pregnant, just had 7 babies. !!!!!!!!!!
what do i do now? to help the babies live and for the moma???
help!!!!!!!!
 
Hello, welcome to the forum :) What species of Cham is it? You will want to get a lot of tiny pinhead crickets and a lot of fruit flies. The babies can all be kept together for now, but separate from mum.
Give the momma extra calcium powder and make sure she has plenty to drink over the next few days. Congratulations!
 
Congrats! I'm assuming she is a Jacksons?? There are several experienced Jacksons keepers here that I'm sure will chime in to guide you. Again, CONGRATS!! :)
 
thanks....so i need to set them up a cage with lid. feed them pinhead crickets and such. what about water? i noticed khaleesi is thirsty after birth. im guessing seven babies is average. gosh they are so cute!!!! we were worried because khaleesy hadnt eaten in almost a week, now i guess i know why. when will she wanna eat again?
 
Yeah make sure you get that separate bin for them. I would just use a rubbermaid for now and buy a UVB light for their lighting. I would set up a fake plant in there for them or possibly a lot of sticks to climb on. If you get wild sticks peel the bark off and sanitize them so they are safe for the little ones. Congratz on the babies, I hope they do well.

I would try feeding her right away and dust the heck out of those crickets or whatever you feed her. Feed her as much as she will eat.
 
Separate them right away please or she very well may eat them. I put the 10 mine had in a 12x12x18 screen cage. Here is a couple of threads that goes over some good information from long time jackson's keepers, myself and another Hawaii member that also had Jackson's babies the same day as mine about 4 weeks ago. It will go over stuff as far as the setup, and what to look out for, etc. Hopefully it will answer most questions you may have.

Yes I ran into the same deal except it wasn't petsmart but was a local petstore. They are pregnant usually for 6-9 months. It is also possible they may have more than one set of babies in a short period of time. Mine gave birth about 4 weeks ago and she looks like she is going to give birth again any day now. It is very possible for Jackson's to do this.
