hello,
I am thinking of buying a chameleon as a new pet, but I have been told that I can not handle one due to the stress that it would cause to the chamelion.
I have owned other lizards and have been able to carry them around quite a bit and was wondering if this is true. I think that chamelions are fasinating animals and would love to have one, but I want it to be a part of the family and not just something that sits in a cage all day. Please tell me if I can handle a chamelion like I did my bearded dragon or not. thanks Frank.

No, you should keep handling to a bare minimum.
They do need to spend 99% of their time inside of the cage.
If you want a pet to hold sticky to bearded dragons.
Chameleons are to look at and admire not hold and carry around the house.
They stress way to easy, and the stress can kill them.
Thank you for doing your homework though.

Thank you, I am disapointed by your answer but I would rather have a happy and healthy animal than one in distress by my mishandaling of it.

Frank, if you give us a list of animals you have kept, we might make some suggestions on other personable reptiles that would be new to you.
