My veiled is around 9months she eats slow, has an automatic mister that sprays just under hourly for 20 seconds. And she shed pretty normally a part of her body at a time. Today 3/11/16 i took her out to look her over for anything out of the ordinary she doesnt enjoy being handled but once she is in my hand she gets over it and climbs all about me especially on my head. My problem is that once i release her back into her cage she started rubbing in leave to pull some more skin off and caught it in a bad way and pull some tail flesh out it didnt seem to bother her and the skin though dry doesnt seem to be cutting of blood flow. I was worried as hell i upped her misting and have been monitering, it isnt bleeding and again it didnt seem to hurt has anyone any ideas? I am probably going to see a vet but if it isnt anything serious ill calm down. She is asleep so i dont want to bother her getting a picture till tomorrow. Thank you her name is Khama, Khama the grumpy chameleon.
 
Hi, can you post pictures please? They are resilient animals. Keep the cage clean and if you want to go step further. If your chameleon does not mind being handled. You can do a provodone iodine dip and couple times a day to clean it. Without seeing pictures i cant say rather or not i would use any topical ointment.

i dont know how well you can see it and her cage is due for a cleaning but it looks like a lump the first picture may be the best i dont want to stress her out. I actually got those and she stayed asleep
 
PM @ferretinmyshoes about the issue. She is a vet here on the forums and can give you some guidance. I honestly can't make anything out from the pics, maybe when she wakes up tomorrow.

Only the last photo is clear and I can't see anything on her tail in that photo.
Her skin looks quite dry though. Can you post a clearer photos of the damage please.
 
Thank you i dont want to poke at it but i goto work before she will be awake so when i get back ill grab her gently and make sure i get her good side with some better photos she is a grumpy girl but she is the first pet i got for myself and i enjoy her pretty greens. Which she has been throwing some amazing colours amd been very very green lately
 
The pictures aren't very clear, but on the fourth pic, it appears that she has some retained shed at various parts of her body. I can't say that with 100% confidence, but that's what the pictures make it look like.

half her tail is done with shedding this area is about half way up in the still shedding area. She was doing fine when ever i notice a shed i pay close attention to make sure it has all come off. Or atleast try to i had to change her heating from a bulb to a ceramic heater which i leave on and i think my wife turned off her mister which dryed her skin out a bit i have upped her mistings
 
She looks like she's having a hard time shedding. Do you have any silvadene or flamazine cream you could put on the sore area?

Why did you replace the light with a ceramic heat emitter? Are you meaning you had the light on at night?
 
I like my apartment cold and the bulbs i was buying didnt last long so i switched both my cham and chinese water dragon to the ceramic heaters because i could leave them on and have lasted longer than the expensive heat bulbs she has a uvb bulb that is put on at 7:30 and is off by 9 at the latest though she is asleep before then. I dont have any meds for her but i can get her some if i know where to get it from.

Erm im not quite following she did just shed her belly and has a few flakes still which are coming off though her legs i dont see anything...im colour blind is that makes any sense why i dont see it... but i did see this spray that helps with shedding in the store should i go look into it?
 
There is still an area on the top of the left arm that has not shed and near her wrist on the left arm. Part of the tail has shed and part of it hasn't. There may be other areas on her that I can't see in the photo where she hasn't shed too.

A chameleon doesn't recognize a ceramic heat emitter as a source of heat. She needs a basking light in the daytime. She needs no heat at night if your temperatures don't go down below the low 60'sF at night.

Are you aware that female veileds can produce eggs without having mated? It's important to provide an appropriate place for her to lay them or she will become eggbound.

She has already produced eggs 53 to be exact i know the signs and have something set up to help her. The heater is right next to the uvb bulb in a double lamp set up and has been using the same place to bask as when she had a light, but ill keep and eye on her and maybe change her bulb if i can get a decent quality one. Where can i get these things to help her shed then? Are they just at the pet store or is it a vet thing. And also from my own picture im having trouble seeing the area she still needs to shed other than her tail and the few peft over flakes on her belly are we talking the dryer looking areas of skin? That to me look less colourful then some areas around it
 
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - veiled female between 9months to a year old, ive had her about 7 months
Handling - every few days and she doesnt seem to mind it
Feeding - mostly superworms because of my bad experiance with crickets? Around 10, Every few days i make sure she has constant access to food which she eats one and leaves the rest for later, they have the flukers feeder food it smells like fruit gushers..
Supplements - flukers i have with and without D which i switch out every other week
Watering - i have a monsoon which sprays every hour for 18 seconds i do see her drink from time to time but i mostly see her just sitting getting sprayed, she isnt frantic when the water is on like she is thirsty
Fecal Description - mostly brown with white tip sometime with yellow as well but it isnt water or hard its slightly harder tham your average soft serve and no ot hasnt been tested
History - up untill now she has been completely fine i keep a close eye temp and humidity

Cage Info:
Cage Type - 18×18×36 screen enclosure
Lighting - i have a double bulb fixture witha uvb and a ceramic heater
Temperature - the basking spot is in the low to mid 90s with the floor being in the mid 70s i have a probe and a in cage humity and temp gauge
Humidity - cary between 80-90% depending on the day the mister is quite good
Plants - all fake with some drift wood
Placement - in a office/pet room near a window and away from vents relitively low traffic
Location: florida

Current Problem - while shedding she seemed to ripp out a chunk of her tail
