Here are some photos of my hornworm project

Does that work well for you?
I´m about to try breeding hornworms in germany where the hornworm chow is not available so this may help.

Mine did ok on the silkworm chow, you can also find recipes online to make your own chow, I almost tried that but there was so many ingredients to get it seemed like a hassle, but if it is not readily available to you something you may want to consider. :)

Hello Suzi,
thanks for your reply :)
I did also get a recipe but as you said- there are a lot of different, not really easy to find ingredients.
I think that somebody said that you can also feed them ripe tomatoes, dud you make any experience with that or know something aout it?
I don´t think this will work but i guess i might try it with 1-2 ot the caterpillars.

what is that liquid solution you used to feed your moth becuase I had a hornworm cocoon and pupate into a moth by accident but i died 2 days later because i wasent sure what to feed it.

The liquid solution is one part granulated sugar to four parts water.

I have read that you can feed them carrot, red bellpepper or tomato. I have tried carrot and bell pepper but not tomato. In my experience it was sufficient for a day or two, after that they didn't look so good:(

Suzi, alls I can say is God Bless you, cause that just looks like TOO much work for me!!! Thank you but no thank you! I guess I will continue to go bankrupt ordering my feeders! lol!!!

looks very interesting i can barly keep silk and horns alive let alone breed em..
