Hey fellow cham lovers i need some input

Am i doing something wrong? I am trying to get something going as a new breeder and I'm trying to sell my first clutch. I have a high end couple from two very well established breeders and my prices are low and include shipping. im a honest guy i except many different payment methods including pay pal and monitored secure bank transfer or just a simple cash drop i dont understand why im getting plenty of interest and people telling me that they are very interested and then i never here from them again. Or they will keep me on the hook for a week then say "oh nevermind" can i please get some advice in what im doing wrong or if i should change something im doing? there are lot of experienced breeders here help out a guy new to the world of sales.

Well I don't breed chameleons per say but I do breed other exotic pets and sell them. I'm fairly sure most if not all of the animal breeders out there face the same exact problem u mentioned when they first started out, I guess it's just part n parcel of this 'business'. Something you may want to do when people say their very interested and want to purchase an animal is for them to put a deposit, that way they can't back down last minute.

People hesitate to buy an animal from someone who does not have a well known good track record, it's tough for them to get started.
You may have to lower your price quite a bit, get a few customers and some positive feedback.
Being a senior member of the forum may help a little.
Maybe if you describe in detail, your husbandry methods, and how you care for your animals would help, and post a lot of good quality pics of the animals you are selling, plus the sire (good pics always helps selling).

BTW, were in MD are you? I am in College Park.

not in md

i just moved from maryland to navarre florida. i lived in essex i have been here for 2 months and i love it..the fishing is great and my little guys love it too my prices are 130 shipped and 230 shipped thats is low. very low i have seen some of the people on here charge 400. 500 and get it!! i want to build myself up to there. im going to have to do some research on the blood line of my sire and the female they are both very high end but i didnt know how important it was to keep track. before i moved the female was carried away by a raven in baltimore and i relocated the father at a family friends house because i didnt think a 1000mile trip in the care would have been a good idea considering he was 5 pushing 6 years old. i took the eggs and will keep most if any females i get from the clutch and buy a male from one of you fine gentlemen after i settle in. i am also getting my fl kenneling license so i can legally sell to some of the small mom and pa pet store that are down here. the few that i have shown are very interested. .....ok so price low..post good pics......try to make senior member........keep familly lines and husbandry thanks guys. if you have any other advice im always open to listen to anything that will help me

I just looked up your ad on here and here's the constructive criticism I hope helps :)

1. I think that in the title I would do something like "Baby BB RB Ambilobies - $230 Shipped!" instead of "Cheap!" Because the price is good, so I'd let that talk for itself instead of saying "really cheap!" It's a minor difference but looks better.

2. I cannot stress the importance of good photos! The two you have are a little blurry and the lighting is dark. You have what look like beautiful Ambilobes, take those suckers outside and get some photos of them in natural sunshine - they'll shine in photos and be much more enticing to buyers. I think that a good, beautiful bright photo does 90% of the selling for you. So see if you can borrow a camera from someone if you don't have one and get good photos of your guys.

3. Include a couple photos of the actual babies for sale. I think people like seeing what they're actually getting, so while you have the camera out take a good photo of a few of the little boys to show buyers how nice and healthy the babies look. That will give people more confidence in you, I think.

Those are the things that jump out at me that could help out. But I am a huge believer in photos, I think they do most of the work for you. I know that if I'm looking to buy something, like say a gecko, I'll gravitate to the ad that has nice photos because I feel that I'm getting a much more accurate look at the gecko vs. someone that has darkish cell phone pics.

ok

its suppose to be a bright sunny day around 70 in navarre today and i had to do some cleaning of the habitat and i had to seperate some of the chams to a second 10 gal. so i will be out there doing some work . i will get some better pics..thank you so much i will make the minor changes and see what i can do. these little guys have great patterns already and some even show some red under the chin at 2 months old amazing.. anyone else i love the help thanks..
