First off I'd like to wish everyone a happy holidays!

Id really like to know if anyone is keeping green banana roaches?
Is there a good site to buy some?

TY TY

I got mine from the Roach Crossing, as well. They breed like wild! Easy to keep. I am very happy with them.

Floridaroaches.com had some before. I would try checking there. They were pretty cheap. Doubleds.org also has them.

SHOOOT you guys....so i found the roaches im looking for...but now you guys got me checking out NEW bugs as pets!!! the site 'bugs in cyber space' has rhino beetles!!!
I didnt even know people where keeping these in the states...
so guess what i just ordered!

Can any of the current banana roach keepers tell me how you keep your colony. I hear they do better off of fruit and much more humidity as to say lobsters or dubias..??

Here's how I keep mine. They are on a heating pad on "low." The soil is a mix of coco fiber and water crystals. Then some wood pieces and cork were placed on top. They LOVE the cork. It doesn't look like there are many, but there are tons in there. I can't believe how fast they have bred.

What type of lid are you using? Can you post a pic? I used a setup like this and got invaded by mites by the millions. Had to trash everything.

Mites! Ugh! I've had problems with them in my superworms in the past. I haven't seen any in with these guys. Thank goodness!

nice. thats how i was going to do it. thank you very much for the pics!!! i have some nymphs on the way. When being used as feeders...how much do they to fly in the cage. I want to encourage this flight/flying at least a little to trigger my female jackson appetite. ...are they attracted to the light?

No, they aren't attracted to light - just the opposite. They will look for a place to hide. My don't fly unless I really disturb them. I free range, so I can't tell you what they will do in a cage. I just let mine crawl along a branch and my cham eats them.
