Hi im Matt and have been preparing my 5ft chameleon viv for months now. I keep Turtles, crabs, toads, fish and birds so am quite experienced in keeping animals. am really excited about getting the chameleon! Have researched it a lot and am happy with the viv now. have tried a few different water feature techniques but not happy with any of them so far. I know you have to have a water flow rather than a standing water source, Plus want one that will add to the effect of the viv.I have lots of room to play with as the viv is large. anyone have any ideas?
Thanks a lot for taking a look at this

Don't use a waterfall is the main advice you'll get here, unless you're prepared to clean it daily. The suggested method is a mister of some form to soak the leaves, so something like a mistking. Make sure there is a drain in the bottom of the cage and flooding isn't a problem. Also, waterfalls aren't very natural for chameleons who live in the trees, though they would probably drink from it (Though I hear they prefer pooping in them).

Drippers work too.

i use a mistking system in all of my setups and find it to be one i the best purchases i have made for my chams..

I'd go with mistking, can we see pics of your set up it sounds great.

i've heard alot of good things about mistking, but it seemed too expensive and complicated for me since i only have one cham. if you only need a misting system for a single cage, i would highly recommend the exo-terra monsoon. works great! ive had no issues

if you are around to see your chameleon at least twice a day, just go to home depot and get a hand held pressure mister that you can hand pump. it's the easiest way to water your chameleon, and it's kind of fun. if you have glass in your enclosure, and you don't want calcium stains all over it, use distilled water. good luck!

COOL!LETS SEE SOMEICS OF YOUR SET UP SOUNDS INTERESTING! I KNOW THE MISTKING IS PRETTY EXPENSIVE BUT I HEAR IT IS VERY VERY GOOD QUALITY..AND WELL MANSOON IS COMING BACK OUT WITHOUT THE DRIP PROBLEM..SO I HEAR..HOPE IT GOES WELL WITH YOUR CHAM:D U CAN USE A CUP AND POKE WHOLES ON THE BOTTOM WHILE U THINK IT OVER AND DECIDE WAT U WILL BE GETTING :p

Wow thanks for all your replies i will try get some pictures up when its complete, the misting sounds good, to be honest i was thinking of getting the mister anyway. wanted a waterfall or water feature more just for show really,:) Thanks for taking interest in my viv. I actually converted a book case i found in an antique shop which gave me the height for it and added vents. only ended up costing £40. i used non toxic filler foam and painted it in layers of greys and white to create the effect of rocks. i will try get some pics up soon. Thanks for all your suggestions
