Hi all, I'm njew on here,, but i am sure i will be visiting the site very regulary, picking up a male Veiled saturday, not very old, 7 months.
I have a Q:What is the use of the spikes on the bottom of there body?
Thanks, John
Hey MJ, its Daz30347 from RFUK
Cheers for the reply
When you say spikes on bottom of their boddy do you mean under the chin? Or the spurs on the back of the feet?
under the chin, running down the body,
Cheers, John
Cheers mate, How old is your Veiled now matey?
they are just part of being a Cham. As far as I know They do not serve any real purpose, possible other than to make him look more threating in a defensive posture.
Welcome!!!!! Below I have a link for you. It gives you some great info on Veiled chameleons. Jann

Cheers mate, i appreciate it, i'm only 15 years old so i want to learn as much as possible about them
Don't wory, i have kept reps since i was 10, kept Beardies(Who Hasn't) Leo's, Water Dragons(Chinese) Tegu's and boscs, so have experience in a wide range of lizard, also kept Corns, and Boas(bci)
Cheers again for the advice,John
Thats awesome to get started so young. If I was aware of Chams I would have started a lot earlier. You will love them . Keep coming back here and ask any questions you have.
mine is 5 months old but the last 2 days hes only been eating 1 or 2 large locust a day..im sort of worried,
Cheers mate,
Also, just one more Q:
How much should i handle the Cham each week? not that it is nessecary, but i like to handle them, keeps me interested
Cheers again mate, John
Hey Macro Junkie, 2 large locusts for a 5 month old doesn't sound so bad to me. What did he used to eat?
how much does he weigh?
Cheers for the link, very much appreciated,
Mj, could she be coming up to a shed?
John
Hehe, cheers mate, very helpful
Also, i have heard males tend to be more agressive than females, or can be more agressive, is this true?
I plan on breeding mine also, what age should he be before he is bred? Guessing the age is differnt with females? as it is with most Lizards
John
