Hello, Ill be getting a hibiscus soon for my enclosure. I was told that they don't grown very well inside so I was wondering if there was a way for me to keep it alive inside my enclosure. Thank you for the help.

I've tried a few times with hibiscus and failed every time. They go into shock easily when they are moved from location to location, they need lots of water but have to dry out well between watering. Too much or too little light makes them drop leaves and they are more susceptible to spider mites than other plants. Having said all that I still try them once in a while because all my chams LOVE them, but I generally just buy a couple $10 plants and leave them in the cage until they are too far gone. I've given up trying to grow them at all, but here are some tips anyway.
Good soil drainage (aerated pot, pebbles on the bottom, mix of peat and soil)
Try to keep lighting/temps the same year round to avoid shock
Try to cover the soil to avoid it staying moist from constant misting. A cover or something that allows airflow, but keeps moisture out would be preferable.

I don't know why, but other than watering my Hibiscus I don't do anything special for it. It's sits inside by a window and is doing just fine. Hardly ever direct sunlight. Flowering often. I live in South FL., they grow everywhere.

Yeah I'm up in Canada so they can't even sit near a window due to cold drafts. Every other plant I have grows fine even in the enclosures. I've just never had any luck with hibiscus though.
