Have you thought about putting something around his cage so he cant see you so that way he can get adjusted to everything

Picture of setup, and cham would be useful. Is he black all over? or just one side or the other? Does he hang out under the basking light? or does he tend to hide in a corner near back of cage? He's most likely still getting use to his new home. If he's eating and active, I would be patient. You said its been 3 day, but in the first question answered you said he arrived yesterday.

Heres how he looks

I have a veiled chameleon, mine is around 3 - 3 1/2 months and he's the same size as yours. They're probably right about the age. Can't help u with his coloring though. I hope he's ok..

I think waxworms are good for fattening up a skinny chameleon. You should be able to find them at your local pet store

He looks cold! 85 for basking? should be a little higher. I keep my babies around low 90s. what wattage light bulb are you using and how are u measuring the temp? I would use a 75 watt light blub for basking or one of those 53 watt equivalent. My babies will turn brown when they are absorbing light from the basking light.

He looks stressed and skinny. One thing to consider is that he was probably being housed outdoors in the Florida sunshine. If you place him indoors, he is going to be stressed out for awhile. You might try putting his enclosure outside for part of the day. Make sure he has shade though. You don't want to cook him.
