So. I got my enclosure home and am now getting it all ready for phil to go in within the next month. I have 2 Gold Caps and am gonna grab a ficus to go along with it! Phils MBD is not getting much better but also not any worse. So good and bad. But he is moving around, eating still and drinking. Big Fran still has not layed her eggs but is almost there. Anyways. PICTURE TIME!

Here is the enclosure with no trees in it.

Hope you enjoyed :)

Excellent job on the enclosure. I love it when you can start from scratch and slowly build and create a fully functional habitat for our "other" children...

Your cage looks awesome!:)

How did you seal/protect the wood?

Thank you! :)

Unfortunately i was not able to finish in time to put any varnish on the wood or anything so as of now it is just wood. (kinda worries me)

I did this in advanced woodshop near the end of the year and just had enough time to put it all together. I plan on most of the water hitting plants instead of the wood its self. Lets just hope haha!

Thank you very much! And yes i agree 100% :)

Its cool to see lots of people doing it too. Not just buying them, but putting some creativity in it!

The cage looks great but I think it will only last about a year as the wood will get wet and eventually start to mold and rot. Try to seal it before you put him in there. Im sure you have a cage for him already that he can stay in for a few more days! It would be a shame for you to have to throw it out after putting so much work into it.

At first glance Fran looked like a parsons from the angle of the pic!!! lol
