Debating on whether I want to make my own gutload or order my own. What is better.? And what is your recipe for the gutload and how do you prepare it.?

Is one more expensive then the other.?

If I actually order what is the best kind or should I have multiple.? I need to better my gutloading and want to know how you do it.

Have you checked Sandrachameleons blogs? Thats a good place to start on making your own. As for commercially available gutloads, Repashy bugburger, Repashy superload, Dinofuel, and cricket crack are all good ones. I use bug burger and dinofuel mixed for both crickets and roaches and they both love it.

The user before you posted a link to her blog. :)

On those gutloads is there a special way to prepare them.?

My gutload that I make is pretty easy and cheap and It makes a lot and I just freeze it the crickets go nuts.
I start with the dry stuff, 1 1/2c quaker oats, 1/2cup dried natural banana chips, 1/2 cup roasted unsalted sunflower seeds, 1/2cup Dried cranberries, about a Tbs Garlic powder, and an entire normal sized bottle of sesame seeds. I put that in a food processor and blend it to a fine powder.
Then I individually food process each fruit and veggie and add it to the bowl.
(I wash all of my fruits and veggies with soap and water before hand, as I buy them from Wal-Mart.) I add two Red Apples (core them first apple seeds contain cyanide which is digestible when they are crushed [not many people know that]), a large orange, an Idaho potato of good size, an entire head of broccoli, and 3 large carrots. Going back I would have added some collard greens to it but oh well. Then you just mix it all together, freeze it, and use it as you need. I also infrequently use Fluckers brand dry gutload, and when I'm eating something healthy I feed it to them too, I like to give scrambled egg because they like it and it is good for protein.
