I wanted a really simple feeder cup that was cheap to make, easy to clean, and look somewhat decent lol.
I decided to use a large Vitamin water bottle. I cut it in half and decided to use both halves. So I cut a opening for my cham to aim/eat, sanded the edges down with 400 grit sand paper, then melted the edges with a lighter really quick. I did this to eliminate any sharp edges that could harm my cham's tongue.
For the top half I used a 5 hour energy drink cap, cleaned it up, and stuck it inside the small hole. I did this so the crickets/insects wouldn't get trapped in the cap. also it made a floor for the insects to rest on. On the bottom half i just drilled holes for s***s and giggles. Also i pop the crickets back legs off.
As for making it easy to remove from the cage, i used velcro dots. I have a garden wire hanging off a branch added two velcro patches so it was on both sides. The pics are old and i'm currently using a zip-tie.
Now i can switch cups, make more for bigger insects, clean up my feeder bowls and taken them out before my cham goes to sleep.
I also wanted to try a few other options such as magnets. Same concept the fishtank cleaners have. But if your cham steps on the cup he may go down for a spill.
