I got some horned worms on Saturday and my veiled doesn't seem interested I've tried using feeder tongs put them in a cup and even let crawl on his basking branch does anyone have any tips I really hope he will at least try them not sure why he doesn't seem interested is it because it's a new type of food he eats mealworms, waxworks, and super worms any advice is very welcome

Try giving it as the first feeder of the day. That is how I got Clouseau to take both silk and hornworms. I just put them on one of his branches.

Poke the worms so they move a bit or roll them on your hand. Sometimes they won't eat things unless they see movement.

Another thing you could try is to warm the worms up so they are more active. I have heated the ceramic dish I put the worms in on the stove for a few seconds so it feels like a cup of hot coffe does, so not too hot but comfortable. I put the worms in and a few seconds later they are crawling all over! You could even run them under some hot water for a couple seconds.

I have my feeder cup on the basking side of his enclosure is it ok there or should I put it on the cool side?

It doesnt matter where the cup is/

Ive found that if you pinch the worm it squirms a bit, and they see the movement as food item.

eventually they will recognize it as food.

Ok thanks I just want him to try them horned worms aren't cheap

Careful, once they do, its like candy to them.

:)

My guys get them, and they will always eat them, even if they just ate till their bellys are hanging over their sticks. lol.
