I just bought some hornworms for the first time. I got them in a pod and wanted to know if I can feed them regular silkworm chow? two of the hornworms in the pod are too small to climb up to the top and reach the chow. So I took them out and put them in a seperate container with silkworm chow. Im trying to find out if it is safe for the hornworm and my cham if they eat silkworm chow? Or will it make them toxic again like when they eat tobacco leaves and tomatoes?

I believe it to be the same chow!! They are both fed the same ingredients!!

You can use the same food sold for silkworms with out issue. Just keep the two worms separate and on their own food. Hornworms will eat each other if they do not have a constant food source!

thanks for the info. By the way, when will start selling praying mantis? I keep checking the site and they are never on sale.

yes you can give silkworm chow to hornworms safely.
You can feed a lot of different things to hornworms. grape vine leaves for example make an excellent gutload
