Hornworm Pupae

Since I have all these hornworms who decided to pupate and no tomato, potato or nightshade plants for them to lay eggs on, is it possible to delay the development of the moths? Can I put them somewhere cool and hatch them out in the spring?

Search on here for a member called PickyEaterFeeders. They should be able to help you out.

I'm not sure how big your cham is, but one of my Melleri LOVE to eat hornworm pupae! He/she won't touch a hornworm though - go figure!

If they are kept around 65 degrees they will go in to diapause and won't hatch in to moths for months. However, they will lay eggs on other plants. I have had them lay on a pothos plant. Another member suggested using a potato, let it root in some water and grow in to a plant.
