hornworms to crickets

how many crickets would make up 1 hornworm. If i feed 10 adult crickets daily to my chams and want to replace them with hornworms how many hornworms would equal the same value as 10 crickets?

Depends. Hornworms can get up to about 4-5 inches long, but can be smaller than a cricket as well. Suckers grow fast too. I guess that probably (2) 2.5 to 3" horn worms would be about 10 large crickets. maybe???

It would depend on the size of the hornworm. A very large hornworm could equal 10 crickets. Crickets are not very meaty.

Go to greatlakeshornworms.com they have a chart by weight of the more popular feeders. I think one super giant hornworm weighs as much as 30 adult crickets.

Justin is correct. A large hornworm is like 28 crickets.

How old is your chameleon? I would suggest about 8 crickets every 2 days if it's an adult. If still growing i'd do 7-10 every day.

a few are grown, im trying to do away with crickets, my dubia colony is not large enough to feed 12 chameleons yet. so im trying to find a solution and if i could feed 1 hornworm daily that would be better.
