people keep telling me to feed hornworms to my chameleon but he seems to show no interest in them he just runs and hides

How big is your chameleon and how big are the hornworms? If they are too large, they will not eat them
He is 6 months old he hasn’t been eating very much do to shedding and the guy at the pet store said to try those and they are only an inch to an inch and a half

I was giving him water and i put a hornworm by him mouth and he didn’t shoot his toungue he bit it out of my hand and ate it is it ok to do that?

That's kinda strange. Are you sure his tongue is working correctly?
He’s been shedding recently and had shedding problems again sadly so he’s only had one eye open he was looking at them but just didn’t shoot his toungue and i figured I’d try to get him to eat at least so when he was drinking i put the worm on his mouth and he ate it

What is the main feeder in his diet? Hornworms are more of a treat. They can cause diarrhea because they are very fatty. If he is shooting his tongue at whatever his other feeder is, it should be fine. Is this the case?

He eats crickets just fine mom won’t let roaches be fed and the guy at the store said absolutely no superworms

Superworms are fine to feed chameleons. The guy at the pet store is dead wrong. Where did you buy him?

For how long does he keep his mouth open? My chameleon does this occasionally but only for a few seconds. Also, when he eats the crickets, does he use his tongue? Does it fully extend? And finally does he miss his target ever?

Well he may be really good with animals, but not a chameleon expert! Look around the forum and you will see almost all of us feed superworms every now and then. It's mealworms that are to be avoided

Only for a few seconds some times his aim is spot on and his toungue fully extends but sometimes it doesn’t come out all the way and he misses
