Does anyone know a good source for house flies that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for shipping?? i just brought home a female veiled cham who i think is about a month old...i fell in love with her at work ( i work at a pet store ) thanks....!!!
It would help to know where you're located And I don't think I've ever seen house flies for sale around where I live or on any sites that I've bought crickets..
As Carl says mantisplace.com-
the staple flies are the smallest - and you can get fly food from there to gut load- I hatch them out in small deli containers with the screened lids-
I'm happy my little Jackson has gotten big enough for the blue bottles though- they last longer for me in the fridge before hatching. Shipping is about 7 bucks-
I used hydei fruit flies (I bought the culture kit and had a few going at once) (after hitting every petsmart within 50 miles trying to find food small enough for her one weekend when my pinheads all died) and phoenix worms also and small silkworms - but the shipping on silks is not worth it unless you get a bigger chameleon who can eat them when they get big - or can hatch them out and get them through the whole cycle. I gave her some mini meal worms but not too many or too often -
