How can I tell if my panther Cham is eating ?

I got my little guy the day after Christmas and I have yet to see him eat I don't know if he is just shy or hasn't eaten at all ? He lets me hold him on occasions but he still seems as if he is scared and I'm not sure if that's why he dosent eat in front of me ? I've only seen his poop 1 time since I've had him and its starting to worry me a little bit any advice as to what could be happening ? Thanks

you should have seen him eat by now. Can you post a pic of him and his set up? Are the feeders missing? Have you checked the cage thoroughly to see if you can find feeders hiding? If you cannot find them, dead or alive then he is eating. Are you just letting the feeders go in the cage I assume? Do you see him drink?

Yes I can , the only feeders I can see in the cage are the ones I just put in a few hours ago..... I have watched him drink only a few times, he gets scared if I look at him when misting or trying to feed every other time he crawls around and begs to be held. The feeders are put in a small feeding cup, but the bigger sized crickets can jump out of it.

He looks like he has been eating. Usually babies will get thin really quickly if they arent eating. As long as there are no more crickets in the cage at the end of the day and the crickets cant escape, he is eating. He probably just wont let you see him eating and his poops are hidden from you.

I got 2 panthers the day before christmas lol they both ate as soon as i got them homeand they eat around 15 crickets aday the girl will eat from my hand and come onto it to come out but the male wont just come onto my hand hes a little scared but my veiled was the same at that age and he loves me now

Well that's a relief it's seems as he is a secretive eater lol he does look a little bit skinnier than when I got him but he's still looks healthy. Is it possible he just dosent like crickets ? I haven't offered any other feeders.

He might like other feeders more, he might not. How many are you feeding a day? He might benefit from more feeders. It would also be a good idea to pick up a kitchen scale so you can weigh him weekly and make sure he isnt loosing weight. As long as he is gaining weight, he should be fine.

How old is he? Males under 5-6 months can pretty much be free fed if you want. Some will eat 30 or more a day, even if they wont eat in front of you. Just try to remove as many insects (particularly crickets) as you can at the end of the day if any are left over.

I asked on another thread for his age as I didn't know it and the Majority was 4 months old. I feed him 5-10 crickets at around 12:00-1:00 and then remove what he dosent rear that may they don't munch on him ! Also I did a decently long misting just now and look what I saw
